AKVO Hotel at Jervois Street, Hong Kong
Hotel | Hong Kong | Sheung Wan
This boutique hotel is the epitome of understated luxury. Although minimally decorated in a neutral palette, it exudes comfort through textured fabrics and accents of rich colour. The main design concept, which flows through each guest room, centres on artwork personally painted by the client. The abstract pieces are inspired by traditional Chinese paintings and feature on wall panels, screens and wallpaper, reflecting elements in nature. This metaphor is extended by the deliberate use of gently curving furniture and patterns, which suggest the calm fluidity of water and create a tranquil home away from home.
